With those links out of the way, let's move on to the actual five-step process here...

Step one: Figuring out who you can be of service to.

This step is the same as niche selection but I approach it from the idea that you either have experience that can be helpful to many from your past, or you can commit to becoming a helpful advisor or researcher on a specific topic that interests you.

In the video I cover how him pulling on your past experiences can make this process easier… And how these past experiences don't have to be professionally focused, they can be based on hobbies or sports you've participated in as an amateur.

For those who don't feel like they have a specific topic that they're already able to help others with, I share how finding what you're passionate about or interested in and willing to research, read, produce content on for a few years can also be an option.

The big key behind step one is that you are becoming a researcher on a specific topic to help save time and energy for your audience. Researching things you're already an expert in is easier, but researching things that you enjoy is also fun and easy too.

Step two is to figure out how you can most easily communicate.

Your options here are simple… Either video, blog posts in written form, podcasts in audio format, or advertisements.

The first three don't cost any money, but they are effort based. Advertising definitely costs money so this is only an approach you can take if you have a budget to work with.

Step number three is to create, create, create!

If you chose videos as your main method of creating content, then 2018 needs to be filled with you producing hundreds of videos throughout the year.

If you chose to blog then writing hundreds of blog posts is your job.

Same with podcasts, you must create, create, create!

This is content marketing in action and is the fuel to your online business' engine

Now if you chose to go the approach with advertisements you're still creating lots of content or advertisements, but you're more focused on testing the copy on the ads and the copy on your landing page.

The advertisement approach means you focus more on conversions then you do on audience growth through volumes of content published.

Step four is to grow your email list.

The job here is to become the preeminent leader in your chosen niche. This means you are more helpful than anyone else in the space… Which requires a lot of content published and making sure you share this helpful content with your audience via email.

The first steps are always to create a free giveaway that you can offer in exchange for their email address. This free giveaway must contain solutions to their problems or answers to their questions that they've been seeking.

Generally, you will offer this through a landing page, unless you use blogging then you can offer it through a pop-up.

Once users are on your email list the goal is still to deliver more valuable information, following Gary Vaynerchuk's jab jab jab right hook approach.

Step five is to help your audience get the products and services they already desire.

I share concept in this phase that desires never manufactured within your audience. Your job is to simply help your audience obtain that which they desire.

This comes from understanding your audience, their needs, their once, their fears, their desires.

Then you must create the content that's going to help them at least get on the path to solving the problems and achieving their desires.

Sometimes it's as simple as linking them to an affiliate product that does all the work.

Other times it's as complex as creating a membership program yourself and then populating the membership program with even more content that is specifically designed to help them achieve their goals.

The goal here is never to sell people something. It is much more about helping them obtain that which they desire… It's a subtle difference, but a big one!
